فَ اَمّ مَا ثَمُوْدُ
ثَ مُوْ دُ فَاُهْلِكُوْا
فَ اُهْ لِ كُوْ بِالطَّاغِیَةِ
بِطّ طَا غِ يَهْ
وَاَمّ مَا عَادٌ
عَا دُنْ فَاُهْلِكُوْا
فَ اُهْ لِ كُوْ بِرِیْحٍ
بِ رِىْ حِنْ صَرْصَرٍ
صَرْ صَ رِنْ عَاتِیَةٍ
عَا تِ يَهْ
سَخّ خَ رَ هَا عَلَیْهِمْ
عَ لَىْ هِمْ سَبْعَ
سَبْ عَ لَیَالٍ
لَ يَا لِنْ وّ وَّ ثَمٰنِیَةَ
وَ ثَ مَا نِ ىَ ةَ اَیَّامٍ ۙ
اَ ىّ يَا مِنْ حُسُوْمًا ۙ
خُ سُوْ مَنْ فَتَرَی
فَ تَ رَلْ الْقَوْمَ
قَوْ مَ فِیْهَا
فِىْ هَا صَرْعٰی ۙ
صَرْ نَا كَاَنَّهُمْ
كَ اَنّ نَ هُمْ اَعْجَازُ
اَعْ جَا زُ نَخْلٍ
نَخْ لِنْ خَاوِیَةٍ
خَا وِيَهْ
فَ هَلْ تَرٰی
تَ رَا لَهُمْ
لَ هُمّ مِّنْۢ
مِمْ بَاقِیَةٍ
بَا قِ يَهْ
وَ جَآ ءَ فِرْعَوْنُ
فِرْ عَوْ نَ وَ مَنْ
وَ مَنْ قَبْلَهٗ
قَبْ لَ هُوْ وَ الْمُؤْتَفِكٰتُ
وَلْ مُ ءْ تَ فِ كَا تُ بِالْخَاطِئَةِ
بِلْ خَا طِ ءَهْ
فَ عَ صَوْ رَسُوْلَ
رَ سُوْ لَ رَبِّهِمْ
رَبّ بَ هُمْ فَاَخَذَهُمْ
فَ اَخْ ذَ هُمْ اَخْذَةً
اَخْ ذَ تَرّ رَّابِیَةً
رَا بِ يَهْ
اِنّ نَا لَمَّا
لَمّ مَا طَغَا
طَ غَلْ الْمَآءُ
مَآ ءُ حَمَلْنٰكُمْ
حَ مَلْ نَا كُمْ فِی
فِلْ الْجَارِیَةِ
جَا رِ يَهْ
لِ نَجْ عَ لَ هَا لَكُمْ
لَ كُمْ تَذْكِرَةً
تَذْ كِ رَ تَنْ وّ وَّ تَعِیَهَاۤ
وَتَ عِ ىَ هَآ اُذُنٌ
اُ ذُنُنْ وّ وَّاعِیَةٌ
وَاعِ يَهْ
فَ اِذَا نُفِخَ
نُ فِ خَ فِی
فِصّ الصُّوْرِ
صُوْ رِ نَفْخَةٌ
نَفْ خَ تُنْ وّ وَّاحِدَةٌ
وَاحِ دَهْ
وَحُ مِ لَ تِلْ الْاَرْضُ
اَرْ ضُ وَ الْجِبَالُ
وَلْ جِ بَا لُ فَدُكَّتَا
فَ دُكّ كَ تَا دَكَّةً
دَكّ كَ تَنْ وّ وَّاحِدَةً
وَا حِ دَهْ
فَ يَوْ مَ ءِ ذِنْ وّ وَّقَعَتِ
وَ قَ عَ تِلْ الْوَاقِعَةُ
وَاقِ عَهْ
As for Thamûd, they were destroyed by an overwhelming blast.

So as for Thamūd, they were destroyed by the overpowering [blast].

And as for ’Ȃd, they were destroyed by a furious, bitter wind
— Dr. Mustafa Khattab, the Clear Quran
And as for ʿAad, they were destroyed by a screaming,1 violent wind
— Saheeh International
which Allah unleashed on them non-stop for seven nights and eight days, so that you would have seen its people lying dead like trunks of uprooted palm trees.

Which He [i.e., Allah] imposed upon them for seven nights and eight days in succession, so you would see the people therein fallen as if they were hollow trunks of palm trees.
— Saheeh International
Do you see any of them left alive?
— Dr. Mustafa Khattab, the Clear Quran
Then do you see of them any remains?
— Saheeh International
Also, Pharaoh and those before him, and ˹the people of˺ the overturned cities ˹of Lot˺ indulged in sin,
— Dr. Mustafa Khattab, the Clear Quran
And there came Pharaoh and those before him and the overturned cities1 with sin.
— Saheeh International
each disobeying their Lord’s messenger, so He seized them with a crushing grip.
— Dr. Mustafa Khattab, the Clear Quran
And they disobeyed the messenger of their Lord, so He seized them with a seizure exceeding [in severity].
— Saheeh International
Indeed, when the floodwater had overflowed, We carried you1 in the floating Ark ˹with Noah˺,
— Dr. Mustafa Khattab, the Clear Quran
Indeed, when the water overflowed, We carried you [i.e., your ancestors] in the sailing ship1
— Saheeh International
so that We may make this a reminder to you, and that attentive ears may grasp it.
— Dr. Mustafa Khattab, the Clear Quran
That We might make it for you a reminder and [that] a conscious ear would be conscious of it.
— Saheeh International
At last, when the Trumpet will be blown with one blast,
— Dr. Mustafa Khattab, the Clear Quran
Then when the Horn is blown with one blast
— Saheeh International
and the earth and mountains will be lifted up and crushed with one blow,
— Dr. Mustafa Khattab, the Clear Quran
And the earth and the mountains are lifted and leveled with one blow [i.e., stroke] -
— Saheeh International
on that Day the Inevitable Event will have come to pass.
— Dr. Mustafa Khattab, the Clear Quran
Then on that Day, the Occurrence [i.e., Resurrection] will occur,
— Saheeh International
