And so We have made for every prophet enemies—devilish humans and jinn—whispering to one another with elegant words of deception. Had it been your Lord’s Will, they would not have done such a thing. So leave them and their deceit,

— Dr. Mustafa Khattab, the Clear Quran

And thus We have made for every prophet an enemy - devils from mankind and jinn, inspiring to one another decorative speech in delusion. But if your Lord had willed, they would not have done it, so leave them and that which they invent.

— Saheeh International

so that the hearts of those who disbelieve in the Hereafter may be receptive to it, be pleased with it, and be persistent in their evil pursuits.

— Dr. Mustafa Khattab, the Clear Quran

And [it is] so the hearts of those who disbelieve in the Hereafter will incline toward it [i.e., deceptive speech] and that they will be satisfied with it and that they will commit that which they are committing.

˹Say, O  Prophet,˺ “Should I seek a judge other than Allah while He is the One Who has revealed for you the Book ˹with the truth˺ perfectly explained?” Those who were given the Scripture know that it has been revealed ˹to you˺ from your Lord in truth. So do not be one of those who doubt.

— Dr. Mustafa Khattab, the Clear Quran

[Say], "Then is it other than Allah I should seek as judge while it is He who has revealed to you the Book [i.e., the Qur’ān] explained in detail?" And those to whom We [previously] gave the Scripture know that it is sent down from your Lord in truth, so never be among the doubters.

— Saheeh International

ﮮﮯ ﯓﯔ

The Word of your Lord has been perfected in truth and justice. None can change His Words. And He is the All-Hearing, All- Knowing.

— Dr. Mustafa Khattab, the Clear Quran

And the word of your Lord has been fulfilled in truth and in justice. None can alter His words, and He is the Hearing, the Knowing.

— Saheeh International

ﯢﯣ

˹O Prophet!˺ If you were to obey most of those on earth, they would lead you away from Allah’s Way. They follow nothing but assumptions and do nothing but lie.

— Dr. Mustafa Khattab, the Clear Quran

And if you obey most of those upon the earth, they will mislead you from the way of Allah. They follow not except assumption, and they are not but misjudging.1

— Saheeh International

ﯴﯵ

Indeed, your Lord knows best who has strayed from His Way and who is ˹rightly˺ guided.

— Dr. Mustafa Khattab, the Clear Quran

Indeed, your Lord is most knowing of who strays from His way, and He is most knowing of the [rightly] guided.

— Saheeh International

So eat only of what is slaughtered in Allah’s Name if you truly believe in His revelations.

— Dr. Mustafa Khattab, the Clear Quran

So eat of that [meat] upon which the name of Allah has been mentioned,1 if you are believers in His verses [i.e., revealed law].

— Saheeh International

ﭣﭤ ﭪﭫ

Why should you not eat of what is slaughtered in Allah’s Name when He has already explained to you what He has forbidden to you—except when compelled by necessity? Many ˹deviants˺ certainly mislead others by their whims out of ignorance. Surely your Lord knows the transgressors best.

— Dr. Mustafa Khattab, the Clear Quran

And why should you not eat of that upon which the name of Allah has been mentioned while He has explained in detail to you what He has forbidden you, excepting that to which you are compelled.1 And indeed do many lead [others] astray through their [own] inclinations without knowledge. Indeed, your Lord - He is most knowing of the transgressors.

— Saheeh International

ﭵﭶ ﭿ

Shun all sin—open and secret. Indeed, those who commit sin will be punished for what they earn.

— Dr. Mustafa Khattab, the Clear Quran

And leave [i.e., desist from] what is apparent of sin and what is concealed thereof. Indeed, those who earn [blame for] sin will be recompensed for that which they used to commit.

— Saheeh International

ﮉﮊ ﮐﮑ

Do not eat of what is not slaughtered in Allah’s Name. For that would certainly be ˹an act of˺ disobedience. Surely the devils whisper to their ˹human˺ associates to argue with you.1 If you were to obey them, then you ˹too˺ would be polytheists.

— Dr. Mustafa Khattab, the Clear Quran

And do not eat of that upon which the name of Allah has not been mentioned, for indeed, it is grave disobedience. And indeed do the devils inspire their allies [among men] to dispute with you. And if you were to obey them, indeed, you would be associators [of others with Him].1

— Saheeh International

ﮨﮩ

Can those who had been dead, to whom We gave life and a light with which they can walk among people, be compared to those in complete darkness from which they can never emerge?1 That is how the misdeeds of the disbelievers have been made appealing to them.

— Dr. Mustafa Khattab, the Clear Quran

And is one who was dead and We gave him life and made for him light by which to walk among the people like one who is in darkness, never to emerge therefrom? Thus it has been made pleasing to the disbelievers that which they were doing.
