ثُمَّ
ثُمّ مَ بَعَثْنٰهُمْ
بَ عَثْ نَا هُمْ لِنَعْلَمَ
لِ نَعْ لَ مَ اَیُّ
اَىّ يُلْ الْحِزْبَیْنِ
حِزْ بَىْ نِ اَحْصٰی
اَحْ صَا لِمَا
لِ مَا لَبِثُوْۤا
لَ بِ ثُوْٓ اَمَدًا
اَ مَ دَا
ثُمّ مَ بَعَثْنٰهُمْ
بَ عَثْ نَا هُمْ لِنَعْلَمَ
لِ نَعْ لَ مَ اَیُّ
اَىّ يُلْ الْحِزْبَیْنِ
حِزْ بَىْ نِ اَحْصٰی
اَحْ صَا لِمَا
لِ مَا لَبِثُوْۤا
لَ بِ ثُوْٓ اَمَدًا
اَ مَ دَا

then We raised them so We may show which of the two groups would make a better estimation of the length of their stay.1

Then We awakened them that We might show which of the two factions was most precise in calculating what [extent] they had remained in time.
