مَا قَطَعْتُمْ
قَ طَعْ تُمّ مِّنْ
مِلّ لِّیْنَةٍ
لِىْ نَ تِنْ اَوْ
اَوْ تَرَكْتُمُوْهَا
تَ رَكْ تُ مُوْ هَا قَآىِٕمَةً
قَآ ءِ مَ تَنْ عَلٰۤی
عَ لَٓا اُصُوْلِهَا
اُ صُوْ لِ هَا فَبِاِذْنِ
فَ بِ اِذْ نِلّ اللّٰهِ
لَا هِ وَ لِیُخْزِیَ
وَ لِ يُخْ زِ يَلْ الْفٰسِقِیْنَ
فَا سِ قِىْٓ نْ
Whatever palm trees you ˹believers˺ cut down or left standing intact, it was ˹all˺ by Allah’s Will, so that He might disgrace the rebellious.1

Whatever you have cut down of [their] palm trees or left standing on their trunks - it was by permission of Allah and so He would disgrace the defiantly disobedient.
