وَ یَقُوْلُ
وَ ىَ قُوْ لُلّ الَّذِیْنَ
لَ ذِىْ نَ اٰمَنُوْا
آ مَ نُوْ لَوْ لَا
لَوْ لَا نُزِّلَتْ
نُزّ زِ لَتْ سُوْرَةٌ ۚ
سُوْ رَهْ فَاِذَاۤ
فَ اِذَاۤ اُنْزِلَتْ
اُنۡ زِلَتۡ سُوْرَةٌ
سُوْ رَ تُمّ مُّحْكَمَةٌ
مُحْ كَ مَ تُنْ وّ وَّ ذُكِرَ
وَذُ كِ رَ فِیْهَا
فِىْ هَلْ الْقِتَالُ ۙ
قِ تَا لُ رَاَیْتَ
رَاَىْ تَلّ الَّذِیْنَ
لَ ذِىْ نَ فِیْ
فِىۡ قُلُوْبِهِمْ
قُ لُوْ بِ هِمّ مَّرَضٌ
مَ رَضُنْ ىّ یَّنْظُرُوْنَ
يَنْ ظُ رُوْ نَ اِلَیْكَ
اِلَىْ كَ نَظَرَ
نَ ظَ رَلْ الْمَغْشِیِّ
مَغْ شِىّ ىِ عَلَیْهِ
عَ لَىْ هِ مِنَ
مِ نَلْ الْمَوْتِ ؕ
مَوْ تْ فَاَوْلٰی
فَ اَوْ لَا لَهُمْ
لَ هُمْ

47:20

ﭑ ﭒ ﭓ ﭔ ﭕ ﭖﭗ ﭘ ﭙ ﭚ ﭛ ﭜ ﭝ ﭞﭟ ﭠ ﭡ ﭢ ﭣ ﭤ ﭥ ﭦ ﭧ ﭨ ﭩ ﭪ ﭫﭬ ﭭ ﭮ ﭯ

And the believers say, “If only a sûrah was revealed ˹allowing self-defence˺!” Yet when a precise sûrah is revealed, in which fighting is ˹explicitly˺ mentioned, you see those with sickness in their hearts staring at you like someone in the throes of death. It would have been better for them

Those who believe say, "Why has a sūrah¹ not been sent down?" But when a precise sūrah is revealed and battle is mentioned therein, you see those in whose hearts is disease [i.e., hypocrisy] looking at you with a look of one overcome by death. And more appropriate for them² [would have been]
