وَ قَا لُوْ قُلُوْبُنَا
قُ لُوْ بُ نَا فِیْۤ
فِىْٓ اَكِنَّةٍ
اَكِنّ نَ تِمّ مِّمَّا
مِمّ مَا تَدْعُوْنَاۤ
تَدْ عُوْ نَآ اِلَیْهِ
اِلَىْ هِ وَ فِیْۤ
وَ فِىْٓ اٰذَانِنَا
آ ذَا نِ نَا وَقْرٌ
وَقْ رُنْ وّ وَّ مِنْۢ
وَ مِمْ بَیْنِنَا
بَىْ نِ نَا وَ بَیْنِكَ
وَ بَىْ نِ كَ حِجَابٌ
حِ جَا بُنْ فَاعْمَلْ
فَعْ مَلْ اِنَّنَا
اِنّ نَ نَا عٰمِلُوْنَ
عَا مِ لُوْٓ نْ
They say, “Our hearts are veiled against what you are calling us to, there is deafness in our ears, and there is a barrier between us and you. So do ˹whatever you want˺ and so shall we!”

And they say, "Our hearts are within coverings [i.e., screened] from that to which you invite us, and in our ears is deafness, and between us and you is a partition, so work;1 indeed, we are working."
