يَآ اَىّ ىُ هَلّ الَّذِیْنَ
لَ ذِىْ نَ اٰمَنُوْا
آ مَ نُوْ لَا
لَا یَحِلُّ
ىَ حِلّ لُ لَكُمْ
لَ كُمْ اَنْ
اَنْ تَرِثُوا
تَ رِثُنّ النِّسَآءَ
نِ سَآ ءَ كَرْهًا ؕ
كَرْ هَا وَ لَا
وَلَا تَعْضُلُوْهُنَّ
تَعۡ ضُ لُوۡهُنّ نَ لِتَذْهَبُوْا
لِ تَذۡهَ بُوۡ بِبَعْضِ
بِ بَعْ ضِ مَاۤ
مَاۤ اٰتَیْتُمُوْهُنَّ
آ تَىْ تُ مُوْ هُنّ نَ اِلَّاۤ
اِلّ لَٓا اَنْ
اَنۡ ىّ یَّاْتِیْنَ
يَاْ تِىْ نَ بِفَاحِشَةٍ
بِ فَا حِ شَ تِمّ مُّبَیِّنَةٍ ۚ
مُ بَىّ ىِ نَهْ وَ عَاشِرُوْهُنَّ
وَعَاشِ رُوۡهُنّ نَ بِالْمَعْرُوْفِ ۚ
بِلۡ مَعۡ رُوۡٓفْ فَاِنْ
فَ اِنۡ كَرِهْتُمُوْهُنَّ
كَ رِهۡ تُ مُوۡهُنّ نَ فَعَسٰۤی
فَ عَ سَآ اَنْ
اَنۡ تَكْرَهُوْا
تَكْ رَ هُوْ شَیْـًٔا
شَىْ ءَ نْ وّ وَّ یَجْعَلَ
وَيَجْ عَ لَلّ اللّٰهُ
لَا هُ فِیْهِ
فِىْ هِ خَیْرًا
خَىْ رَنْ كَثِیْرًا
كَ ثِىْ رَا
O believers! It is not permissible for you to inherit women against their will1 or mistreat them to make them return some of the dowry ˹as a ransom for divorce˺—unless they are found guilty of adultery.2 Treat them fairly. If you happen to dislike them, you may hate something which Allah turns into a great blessing.

O you who have believed, it is not lawful for you to inherit women by compulsion.1 And do not make difficulties for them in order to take [back] part of what you gave them2 unless they commit a clear immorality [i.e., adultery]. And live with them in kindness. For if you dislike them - perhaps you dislike a thing and Allah makes therein much good.
