اِذْ جَآءُوْكُمْ
جَآ ءُوْ كُمّ مِّنْ
مِنْ فَوْقِكُمْ
فَوْ قِ كُمْ وَ مِنْ
وَ مِنْ اَسْفَلَ
اَسْ فَ لَ مِنْكُمْ
مِنْ كُمْ وَ اِذْ
وَ اِذْ زَاغَتِ
زَاغَ تِلْ الْاَبْصَارُ
اَبْ صَا رُ وَ بَلَغَتِ
وَ بَ لَ غَ تِلْ الْقُلُوْبُ
قُ لُوْ بُلْ الْحَنَاجِرَ
حَ نَا جِ رَ وَ تَظُنُّوْنَ
وَ تَ ظُنّ نُوْ نَ بِاللّٰهِ
بِلّ لَا هِظّ الظُّنُوْنَا
ظُ نُوْ نَا
˹Remember˺ when they came at you from east and west,1 when your eyes grew wild ˹in horror˺ and your hearts jumped into your throats, and you entertained ˹conflicting˺ thoughts about Allah.2

[Remember] when they came at you from above you and from below you, and when eyes shifted [in fear], and hearts reached the throats, and you assumed about Allah [various] assumptions.
