And ˹remember˺ when David and Solomon passed judgment regarding the crops ruined ˹at night˺ by someone’s sheep, and We were witness to their judgments.

And [mention] David and Solomon, when they judged concerning the field - when the sheep of a people overran it [at night],1 and We were witness to their judgement.

We guided ˹young˺ Solomon to a fairer settlement,1 and granted each of them wisdom and knowledge. We subjected the mountains as well as the birds to hymn ˹Our praises˺ along with David. It is We Who did ˹it all˺.

And We gave understanding of it [i.e., the case] to Solomon, and to each [of them] We gave judgement and knowledge. And We subjected the mountains to exalt [Us], along with David and [also] the birds. And We were doing [that].1

We taught him the art of making body armour to protect you in battle. Will you then be grateful?

And We taught him the fashioning of coats of armor to protect you from your [enemy in] battle. So will you then be grateful?

And to Solomon We subjected the raging winds, blowing by his command to the land We had showered with blessings. It is We Who know everything.

And to Solomon [We subjected] the wind, blowing forcefully, proceeding by his command toward the land which We had blessed. And We are ever, of all things, Knowing.

And ˹We subjected˺ some jinn1 that dived for him,2 and performed other duties. It is We Who kept them in check.

And of the devils [i.e., jinn] were those who dived for him and did work other than that. And We were of them a guardian.1
— Saheeh International
And ˹remember˺ when Job cried out to his Lord, “I have been touched with adversity,1 and You are the Most Merciful of the merciful.”

And [mention] Job, when he called to his Lord, "Indeed, adversity has touched me, and You are the most merciful of the merciful."

So We answered his prayer and removed his adversity, and gave him back his family, twice as many, as a mercy from Us and a lesson for the ˹devoted˺ worshippers.

So We responded to him and removed what afflicted him of adversity. And We gave him [back] his family and the like thereof with them as mercy from Us and a reminder for the worshippers [of Allah].

And ˹remember˺ Ishmael, Enoch, and Ⱬul-Kifl.1 They were all steadfast.

And [mention] Ishmael and Idrees and Dhul-Kifl; all were of the patient.

We admitted them into Our mercy, for they were truly of the righteous.

And We admitted them into Our mercy. Indeed, they were of the righteous.

And ˹remember˺ when the Man of the Whale stormed off ˹from his city˺ in a rage, thinking We would not restrain him.1 Then in the ˹veils of˺ darkness2 he cried out, “There is no god ˹worthy of worship˺ except You. Glory be to You! I have certainly done wrong.”

And [mention] the man of the fish [i.e., Jonah], when he went off in anger1 and thought that We would not decree [anything] upon him.2 And he called out within the darknesses,3 "There is no deity except You; exalted are You. Indeed, I have been of the wrongdoers."

So We answered his prayer and rescued him from anguish. And so do We save the ˹true˺ believers.

So We responded to him and saved him from the distress. And thus do We save the believers.
