˹He is˺ the One Who created the heavens and the earth and everything in between in six Days,1 then established Himself on the Throne. ˹He is˺ the Most Compassionate! Ask ˹none other than˺ the All-Knowledgeable about Himself.

He who created the heavens and the earth and what is between them in six days and then established Himself above the Throne1 - the Most Merciful, so ask about Him one well informed [i.e., the Prophet (ﷺ)].

— Saheeh International

ﮔﮕ

When it is said to them, “Prostrate to the Most Compassionate,” they ask ˹in disgust˺, “What is ‘the Most Compassionate’? Will we prostrate to whatever you order us to?” And it only drives them farther away.

And when it is said to them, "Prostrate to the Most Merciful," they say, "And what is the Most Merciful? Should we prostrate to that which you order us?" And it increases them in aversion.

Blessed is the One Who has placed constellations in the sky, as well as a ˹radiant˺ lamp1 and a luminous moon.

Blessed is He who has placed in the sky great stars and placed therein a [burning] lamp and luminous moon.

And He is the One Who causes the day and the night to alternate, ˹as a sign˺ for whoever desires to be mindful or to be grateful.

And it is He who has made the night and the day in succession for whoever desires to remember or desires gratitude.

The ˹true˺ servants of the Most Compassionate are those who walk on the earth humbly, and when the foolish address them ˹improperly˺, they only respond with peace.

And the servants of the Most Merciful are those who walk upon the earth easily,1 and when the ignorant address them [harshly], they say [words of] peace,2

˹They are˺ those who spend ˹a good portion of˺ the night, prostrating themselves and standing before their Lord.

And those who spend [part of] the night to their Lord prostrating and standing [in prayer]

˹They are˺ those who pray, “Our Lord! Keep the punishment of Hell away from us, for its punishment is indeed unrelenting.

And those who say, "Our Lord, avert from us the punishment of Hell. Indeed, its punishment is ever adhering;

It is certainly an evil place to settle and reside.”

Indeed, it is evil as a settlement and residence."

˹They are˺ those who spend neither wastefully nor stingily, but moderately in between.

— Dr. Mustafa Khattab, the Clear Quran

And [they are] those who, when they spend, do so not excessively or sparingly but are ever, between that, [justly] moderate

— Saheeh International

ﭡﭢ

˹They are˺ those who do not invoke any other god besides Allah, nor take a ˹human˺ life—made sacred by Allah—except with ˹legal˺ right,1 nor commit fornication. And whoever does ˹any of˺ this will face the penalty.

And those who do not invoke1 with Allah another deity or kill the soul which Allah has forbidden [to be killed], except by right, and do not commit unlawful sexual intercourse. And whoever should do that will meet a penalty.

Their punishment will be multiplied on the Day of Judgment, and they will remain in it forever, in disgrace.

Multiplied for him is the punishment on the Day of Resurrection, and he will abide therein humiliated -
