And ˹remember˺ when Zachariah cried out to his Lord, “My Lord! Do not leave me childless, though You are the Best of Successors.”1

And [mention] Zechariah, when he called to his Lord, "My Lord, do not leave me alone [with no heir], while You are the best of inheritors."

ﯤﯥ ﯭﯮ

So We answered his prayer, granted him John, and made his wife fertile. Indeed, they used to race in doing good, and call upon Us with hope and fear, totally humbling themselves before Us.

So We responded to him, and We gave to him John, and amended for him his wife. Indeed, they used to hasten to good deeds and supplicate1 Us in hope and fear, and they were to Us humbly submissive.

And ˹remember˺ the one who guarded her chastity, so We breathed into her through Our angel, ˹Gabriel,˺1 making her and her son a sign for all peoples.

And [mention] the one who guarded her chastity [i.e., Mary], so We blew into her [garment] through Our angel [i.e., Gabriel], and We made her and her son a sign for the worlds.

— Saheeh International

˹O prophets!˺ Indeed, this religion of yours is ˹only˺ one, and I am your Lord, so worship Me ˹alone˺.

Indeed this, your religion, is one religion,1 and I am your Lord, so worship Me.

— Saheeh International

Yet the people have divided it into sects. But to Us they will all return.

And [yet] they divided their affair [i.e., that of their religion] among themselves,1 [but] all to Us will return.

— Saheeh International

So whoever does good and is a believer will never be denied ˹the reward for˺ their striving, for We are recording it all.

— Dr. Mustafa Khattab, the Clear Quran

So whoever does righteous deeds while he is a believer - no denial will there be for his effort,1 and indeed We [i.e., Our angels], of it, are recorders.

— Saheeh International

It is impossible for a society which We have destroyed to ever rise again,

And it is prohibited to [the people of] a city which We have destroyed that they will [ever] return1

— Saheeh International

until ˹after˺ Gog and Magog have broken loose ˹from the barrier˺,1 swarming down from every hill,

Until when [the dam of] Gog and Magog has been opened and they, from every elevation, descend

— Saheeh International

ushering in the True Promise.1 Then—behold!—the disbelievers will stare ˹in horror, crying,˺ “Oh, woe to us! We have truly been heedless of this. In fact, we have been wrongdoers.”

And [when] the true promise [i.e., the resurrection] has approached; then suddenly the eyes of those who disbelieved will be staring [in horror, while they say], "O woe to us; we had been unmindful of this; rather, we were wrongdoers."

— Saheeh International

Certainly you ˹disbelievers˺ and whatever you worship instead of Allah will be the fuel of Hell.1 You are ˹all˺ bound to enter it.

Indeed, you [disbelievers] and what you worship other than Allah are the firewood of Hell. You will be coming to [enter] it.

— Saheeh International

Had those idols been ˹true˺ gods, they would not have entered it. And they will be there forever.

— Dr. Mustafa Khattab, the Clear Quran

Had these [false deities] been [actual] gods, they would not have come to it, but all are eternal therein.

— Saheeh International
